Finding Sherman GSF is a talented, premium awarded Oldenburg gelding by Weltstern out of Grace Ann Banks. In 2004, Sherman was registered and branded with Oldenburg NA and was awarded premium status as the 3rd place colt out of 16 inspected. Sherman has very correct confirmation and great movement which makes his premium status no surprise.

As a three year old, in 2007, Sherman started training at Paradocs Farm under Trey Prasse. After only seven days under saddle and 12 days into training, this sensible and willing horse won his Introductory Level dressage class with a score of 65%! Sherman spent 60 days in training under Trey Prasse where he learned how to stand patiently on the cross ties, be clipped, blanketed, walk onto the trailer by himself and countless other important ground manners. He was trained to be ridden bridleless and saddleless on the flat and over fences. Click here to see Sherman's first 60 days under saddle. Sherman then came back to Greenstone Farm, LLC where he was turned out for the winter (Nov. - Apr.). in May of 2008, Sherman went back to Paradocs Farm for two days of refresher training and picked up and worked like he had never left training at all. Click here to see Sherman's refresher training.

In the winter/spring of 2008, Sherman went to Hidden Creek Stables and trained under Stacie Beilin. With Stacie, Sherman got lots of good miles on him and became much less of a green horse.

Due to Stacie's increasing training and work schedule Sherman left Hidden Creek Stables and went to Stamford CT with Matthew Beasley. Sherman stayed in CT for 4 months and progressed from Training to first level dressage.

Sherman left Connecticut to come back to Virginia and started training with Katie Willis of Top Notch Eventing to start his jumping training and continue in dressage. Under Katie, Sherman did some bushwacking, jumping and continued his dressage. Click here for video of Sherman at Top Notch Eventing.

Sherman is a fun-loving horse with a loving personality plus he has the athletic ability to be an exceptional prospect in any discipline. Whether you aspire to do dressage, hunters, or eventing, Sherman will take you where you want to go. Sherman enjoys baths, loads himself on the trailer, drinks from the hose and stands still while you clip and pull him mane. He is good for the vet and the farrier. Sherman is 100% sound.
