Bound & Determined GSF

Bound & Deternmined GSF has overcome incredible odds to become an approved stallion. He was injured on the day he was born and had ten months of strict stall rest. During the 10 months of recovery, we were not sure if he would come out of the stall sound or not. Thankfully, Bound & Determined made a full recovery and is 100% sound. In an effort to try to socialize him properly with other horses besides his mother, we turned Bound & Determined out in a group situation with some other young colts. Two weeks before he was to begin his training and prepare for the stallion inspection, he received a kick to the stifle which created a hematoma the size of a basketball. Bound & Determined was not able to start training until just 5 weeks before the inspection. Although he wasn't at his peak, Bound & Determined succeeded in passing the Stallion Test and made it into Stud Book I with a limited license.

Bound & Determined has temporarily been dropped back to Stud Book II due to his not meeting performance requirements on time. Our hope was to bring him to the 30 Day Stallion Testing in 2010 to keep up with the requirements but due to scar tissue forming adhesions on the tendons of his injured leg he was not consistently sound enough to attend. Now that the adhesions have broken free of the tendon he is ready to go on to the 70 day test in 2011.

Bound & Determeined GSF is currently in training with Katie Willis at Top Notch Eventing. On Mach 26 Bound & Determined went to Loch Moy and competed in a Combined Test at beginner Novice Level and took second place. He will be moving up to Novice Level April 24th at Redlands.
