| Bound & Determined GSF has overcome incredible odds to become an approved stallion. He was injured on the day he was born and had ten months of strict stall rest. During the 10 months of recovery, we were not sure if he would come out of the stall sound or not. Thankfully, Bound & Determined GSF made a full recovery and is 100% sound. In an effort to try to socialize him properly with other horses besides his mother, we turned Bound & Determined out in a group situation with some other young colts. Two weeks before he was to begin his training and prepare for the stallion inspection, he received a kick to the stifle which created a hematoma the size of a basketball. Bound & Determined GSF was not able to start training until just 5 weeks before the inspection. Although he wasn't at his peak, Bound & Determined GSF succeeded in passing the Stallion Test and made it into Stud Book I with a limited license. To earn his full license he would need to complete the 70 Day Stallion Test. As part of his preparation for the 70 Day Stallion Test, Bound & Determined GSF ridden by Katie Willis of Top Notch Eventing took second place at Loch Moy in a Combined Test at beginner Novice Level. In 2011, Bound & Determined GSF completed the 70 Day Stallion Performance Test at Silver Creek Farm in Broken Arrow Oklahoma, earning his lifetime permanent breeding license and an unrestricted book.
