Sinclair B's pedigree is made up of many "greats" in European Warmblood breeding history. Many of the stallions in his pedigree provide the foundation upon which the modern warmblood is based. Such greats include Pericles, Hyperion, Der Löwe, Domspatz, Duellant, Maharadscha and Senator to name a few. Some of these horses have entire families and breeding lines based on their genes.

Another measure as to the quality of Sinclair B's bloodlines are the thirteen (at least) horses in his pedigree which were granted State Premium, Preferent, Ster or Kern status. Some of these horses have the honor of DLG awards as well. The DLG award is an extremely rare and prestigious honor. It is awarded by the national organization that oversees all the German Warmblood breeds; therefore, Hanoverian, Oldenburg, Trakehner, Holsteiner, Westphalian...etc mares all compete against each other for this great honor.

As well as having great warmbloods of the past, Sinclair has many talented, successful well rounded horses of today in his pedigree too. Stallions like Samber who reached upper levels in dressage and jumping and has seen great success in the breeding shed as well. And Sinclair B's dam who successfully competed in eventing and her sire Lopez who competed in upper level jumping under two riders. The list of accomplishments of these horses goes on and on.

Sinclair B himself showed incredible potential as a jumper as well as having great movement for dressage as a youngster but an unfortunate injury from wire cut his career short. Eventhough he was not able to prove himself in competition, Sinclair B is living up to his pedigree as a breeding stallion. He is the sire of Southern Star who is an approved stallion in Germany currently competing in upper level dressage. Sonny Boy, another son by Sinclair B was also approved to be a stallion and is currently standing in Indonesia. Sinclair B's grandson, Multicolor, just received his stallion approval and was Reserve Champion at his inspection. Another son of Sinclair B's named Smooth Design was granted Premium Stallion status at his stallion approval in 2005. These breeding successes demonstrate that Sinclair B is prepotent and is passing along the quality genes which make up his pedigree to is offspring.

Sire Line

Sambuco B - Sire of at least 9 approved sons in Germany. Sambuco B was one of the most popular Pinto sires in Germany. He was approved for breeding in Munchen in 1990 and was graded a 1A stallion. He achieved Elite Stallion status in 1999. Unfortunately this lovely stallion died at 2001 before the full scope of his career could be realized.

Samber- Samber, Sinclair B's grandsire is the only approved Pinto stallion in the Dutch registry. This remarkable stallion achieved Grand Prix level in dressage and also level Z (BSJA Grade A) in show jumping. At his 100 day test, he received a 10 for character and temperament. His overall score was 160.2 which earned him A level status with KWPN. Not only has Samber proved himself in competition but he has shown himself to be very prolific in the breeding shed as well. His son, West Star ridden by Nina Melkonian has shown tremendous talent and results in eventing. Art Deco, owned by Liz Hall has reached Grand Prix in dressage. His grandson Bim Bam Bino represented Greece in international dressage. These are just a few of the horses by Samber who are doing great things in the show ring all around the world. The whole list is too long to describe here.

Pericles- Sinclair B's greatgrandsire Pericles was an English bred Thoroughbred. He stood at stud in the Netherlands from 1976 until his death in 1987. He was one of very few Thoroughbreds to achieve Preferent status. Pericles did some racing and competed in Open Jumpers later in his career. His offspring made excellent sport horses and proved themselves in the breeding shed as well. Pericles was best known as being a dressage sire. He is also the maternal grandsire of the legendary stallion Ulft.

Tina D- Sinclair B's greatgranddam Tina D is a remarkable mare. She produced 19 foals, many of whom became great sporthorses. Many of her offspring show up in top performance horse pedigrees today. She is of course the dam of Samber. She is also the producer of Wanda who is the dam of Westfalian registered Rossini Queen. Another daughter of Tina D's is Cora who produced Rinaldo, the sire of the pinto stallions Rainbow and Renaldino.

Le Faquin - Le Faquin sired 11 licensed sons. He had a significant impact on the Dutch Warmblood by adding elegance and lightness to the breed. One of Le Faquin's most famous sons is Pretendent, one of the KWPN's top-ranked sires of all time. Other sons include Vincent and Amarillo. He is also the grandsire of Facet, Cabochon and Caritas. Of these offspring and grandoffspring, Pretendent, Facet, Vincent and Cabochon are listed in the KWPN Top-20 Sires.

Relic- won $69,275 during his racing career. He is the sire of numerous talented race and sport horses.

Queen of Peru- Queen of Peru comes from a royal line of thoroughbreds. Her grandsire Bahram was the top sire in Great Britain in his day. He was noted for having a laid-back temperament and flawless conformation and was a producer of many winners. Queen of Peru herself produced top performance horses being the dam of Pericles and Mysolo.

Aldis Lamp - Aldis Lamp was the leading sire in Belgium twelve times. Aldis Lamp sired Pedro (dam sire of Alison Firestone's Major) and Le Faquin (dam sire of the KWPN stallions Hitchcock, Usselo and Zenith)

Enfant de Normandie - Enfant de Normandie was an excellent broodmare sire. His maternal grandson, John E. M. (by Jasper out of Zeggy (Enfant de Normandie)) helped the United States Win the Nations Cup in Norway under rider Candice King of Wellington, FL. He was also the maternal grandsire of Heruto (Doruto x Enfant de Normandie) a Grand Prix dressage stallion

War relic- son of the legendary Man O' War. War Relic won $89,495 during his racing career which was a lot of money back in the early 40's. He won Massachusetts H, Narragansett Special, Governor's H, Kenner S. War Relic was a full brother to the legendary race horse - Speed Boat.

Hyperion - Hyperion was leading sire six times, and ranked among the top 10 sires for 16 years. He was also two time leading broodmare sire. His sons include some of the most influential names in breeding, whether for racing or sport: Heliopolis, twice leading sire in the U.S. is also the grandsire of champion steeplechaser, Top Bid. Helianthemum, dam of the legendary American show jumper, Jet Run, was by Heliodorus-a son of Heliopolis out of Spotted Beauty (who is also the dam of the Selle Francais sire, Dark Tiger xx). Heliopolis's son, Grey Eagle, sired A Little Bit, winner of an Individual Silver Medal at the Pan American Games. He is also found in the pedigree of Abglanz

Enfant Terrible- Another very important thoroughbred in warmblood breeding. He is the sire of the Selle Francais stallion Vagabond who produced the stallion Etretat. Etretat is the sire of two very important show jumpers, Big Ben , the two time World Cup winner and Fantast. He was the sire of more than 50 stakes winners.

Dam Line

Livana - Sinclair B's dam had a successful jumping career in Germany.

Lopez- won at S level jumping competition under both Hans-Heinrich Quellen and Thomas Wechert. He is also the half brother to Grand Garcon who competed up to advanced showjumping levels.

Lombard - Lombard is known best as a sire of show jumpers but he also passed on talent in dressage as well. Lombard is the grandsire of the dressage star Gifted, Carol Lavell's Olympic bronze medal winning mount. He is also the sire of Lortzing, winner of the team silver at the Olympic Festival in LA and in 1998 a gold medal from the USDF. He is the damsire of Deutschmeister who received 120.66 points at his 100 day test at Rancho Murieta, CA in 1988. Lombard's most notable contribution in breeding was the siring of the State Stud, Lanthan known for producing versatile modern performance horses. Lanthan standing since 1982 was one of the most sought-after stallions in the Hanoverian breed for producing very modern riding horses for all disciplines. Over his breeding career Lanthan produced many successful performance horses as well as 15 licensed sons and 65 state's premium mares. His offspring are mostly beautiful horses with elastic movements and great ridability. He sired many conformation champions in Germany and his daughters and their descendants are noted broodmares. In 1999 Lanthan was the stallion with the highest breeding value in his age-group. Lanthan passed away in 2002.

Dorfbraut - Sinclair's damsire's dam is the State Premium Awarded mare Dorfbraut who is also the dam of Pik Solo. In 2003, Pik Solo was listed as the 15th leading dressage sire in the US. These results were based on the performance success of offspring.

Mahdi- Mahdi, Sinclair's granddamsire was very important to the Bavarian Warmblood breeding program. He was the full brother to Flaneur who was very influential in the Trakehner stud books. Mahdi was well known for producing excellent sport horses who excelled in all disciplines. Mahdi was very popular as a producer of talented riding horses for all disciplines and overall high quality breeding stock

Lugano II - Lugano II was known for producing ridable dressage horses and international showjumpers. Some of his most notable offspring are: Lugana 1988 South Korean Olympic medal winner for dressage and state stud stallions Lombard and Leubus. Lugano II is also found in important pedigrees of popular modern stallions like Contucci.

Maharadscha Maharadscha was very important to the Trakehner breed as a grandson of the extremely significant Arabian stallion Fetysz. The Arabian bloodlines added refinement and beauty to the breed. Maharadscha was said to be, "extraordinarily beautiful, expressive stallion with Arabian stamp, but in a large format. Very pretty face, much neck, thoroughly sufficient girth; the way of going is elastic and swinging; the stallion shows the best inclination for riding." In 1962, Maharadscha won Second Prize at the DLG Exhibition in Munich. Maharadscha was the sire of 11 graded sons and 82 stud book mares, including German Elite mare ABIZA (dam of ABDULLAH). His offspring inherited a pleasant character, good ridability, and good rhythmic movement. His sons, Flaneur in the Trakehner books and his full brother, Mahdi, in the Bavarian breed, were his most influential sons.

Sergius - Sergius, the son of the legendary Hanoverian stallion Senator, was known for producing internationally successful Jumpers.

Der Löwe - Der Löwe was in his time the best Thoroughbred stallion used in German breeding, producing especially good dressage horses as well as cross-country horses. He was only 15.2 hh and was fine boned but his offspring were excellent sport horses. Twelve of his son's were approved stallions the most important being Lugano I and Lugano II who went on to found their own line; with Lugano II presently having the most influence through his grandson Lanthan. In all Der Löwe produced six state stallions, 158 registered mares and 314 competition horses with winnings of about DM 750,000. Der Löwe was considered the most important Thoroughbred of his generation and in the early 80s there were ten of his grandsons or great-grandsons at the Celle State stud. Der Löwe probably has had more lasting influence in Belgian jumping breeding where his grandson, Lugano van la Roche has been a major sire. Der Löwe was put down at the age of 29 and his skeleton is preserved in the Verden horse museum.

Landeck- Landeck was a very important damsire. He is the damsire of Lombard and also the Trakehner stallion Absatz through the mare Landmoor.

Duellant - Duellant was known for his great expression and enormous, powerful trot. He sired 42 licensed stallions and numerous DLG award winning mares. Duellant produced such greats as Dux of Dr Klimke, and Doublette of Rosemarie Springer, Willi Schultheis and Don Juan. These were very talented dressage horses. In Hanover, he is the sire of such great breeding stallions as Duft I, II, Duden I, II, Durban, Dunkel, Derby, Dezember and Davos. Even with all of these great stallions coming from this magnificent stallion, it is unusual for his genotype to be in the paternal line. It is most often found in the maternal line of horses today which is a great pity because it means that this line will soon be lost. One of the most exemplary pedigrees of which Duellant is the damsire is of Grande with Duellant being the sire of the State Premium mare Duellfest, Grande's dam. "With Grande you would say he is by a showjumper out of a dressage mother line, and yet he was a genius as a stallion."

Domspatz- From Duellant's sire comes the stallion Dollart who founded another branch of the D-Line. This branch was known for producing mainly show jumpers. The two best stallions from this line are Domspatz and Don Carlos. Domspatz is the greatgrandsire of the Hanoverian stallion Diamond Spots who has had a very successful career in Dressage. He is also the damsire of Grandom an Elite Hanoverian stallion and successful Jumper.

Famulus- Famulus is son of the influential Arab stallion Fetysz who is the foundation sire of the Famulus Line. Famulus of course is the sire of Maharadscha who produced Mahdi and Flanuer. Flanuer went on to produce the very popular sire Arogno and then grandson Caprimond which are in high demand in the Trakehner stud books.

Marke She was a chestnut mare by Marktvogt, out of Feldrose by Hexenschuss. One of her most important sons was Maharadscha by Famulus, an outstanding producer of riding horses and broodmares as well as being the sire of Flaneur and Mahdi.

Gabriel- Sire of Halali who was a noted riding horse sire. Sire of Garamond who was very important in the development and upgrading of the Rheinland breed. He was also the sire of the mare Morgenster who was very important in the development of the Dutch Warmblood through her two sons, Senator by Paladijn (different from the Hanoverian Senator listed below) who was the grandsire of the great WPN stallion, Nimmerdor. Senator's younger half brother, Sinaeda, by Camillus produced many sons who became approved stallions and his name is found in the pedigrees of many of the top jumpers including Britain's Marius and Apollo.

Senator- Senator founded one of the most important sire lines in jumping. Two of Senator's best sons were Sesam I and Sender. Sesam's famous son Servus is an all-round sire of competion horses. He is the sire of Grand Prix dressage horses Slibovitz, Schiwago and Spartan and was one of the top ten money-earning sires around 1990. He is also the sire of famous jumpers as well with Tric Tac and San Antonio just to name a few. Senator's line is also doing well in Denmark through a mare by the Sender son Seelöwe out of a Der Löwe mare.
